Established in 1843, the Distillery was named Glenmorangie, meaning ‘Glen of Tranquillity’ in Scots Gaelic, perfectly describing its peaceful setting on the banks of the picturesque Dornoch Firth, a vast sea estuary and a worldwide Site of Special Scientific Interest.
